Surprisingly raised with tender care.
Jan. 26th, 2006 09:02 amI'm off, apparently, to the most wonderful thrift shop in all the world with Meredith and Aiden. It is in a place called Morgantown, and, as Joni Mitchell will always have a piece of my heart to herself, I'll consider this proof that the worst of this week is over, and that a surprise phone call last night after they both probably should have been in bed signaled a shift.
I've been so disappointed and angry and sad and drinking Jameson after work, like my father. Although I am not like my father in that if I drank as much as he did in a night, the bottle save for a shot so that he could claim that he hadn't finished the bottle, I would die. (So, I am like my father after all, then?)
If you live in Philadelphia and do not yet know it, Neil Gaiman will be at Temple University in Mitten Hall tonight at eight o'clock. I'm not sure if he will be signing things, but you should bring things for him to sign either way, just in case.
