Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

Of late my interests have led me down surprising corridors. It's left me to wonder, in fact, if old aspects of my identity had fallen away and died. That I've taken up the study of the art of hosting means that I can now interact with people with a grace that, in my youth, would have seemed nothing short of supernatural. I'm not brilliant, mind, but I have come a long way. And the subjects I currently study are not typically renowned among the crowds I frequent. It occasionally led me to worry, in fact, that somehow I'd lost my right to claim my place among my brothers and sisters of the book and the inhaler. Was I no longer a nerd?
The other evening Zach, being a warrior and a gentleman, took me out into the woods and further initiated me into the art of swordplay. Only a true friend would hand one a broadsword and demonstrate how to slash open his belly, hip to shoulder, swing the sword over one's head, and come down again on the other side ensuring both maximum effectiveness and that one looks as dashing as possible while doing it.
Currently I'm at Nick and Carla's house engaging in acts of high piracy. The network is abuzz and there are cables everywhere. Ben, John, and Nick are gleefully arranging the technical aspects of our massive information exchange; they plot like devils. Despite having emptied what I could onto my external hard drive before leaving the Fort, my computer is once again full. Once I've finished sorting and burning it all, I'll still have to get around to actually watching and listening to all of it. This task feels daunting, but, I assure you, I'm up to it.
My fears, I think, were unfounded.
