There are trends: I seem to quite enjoy a lot of games that I am not very good at playing. Some of these games include "people" and "talking". But I do enjoy them, so that is fine. I am very often in favour of failure, of course, and, although I am also fond of (and am sometimes even better at) games such as "etiquette" and "hospitality," I have often found that making one's own amusement the primary objective is the best course to take. This is clearly the solution. Also, Liz does in fact have my copy of Les Liaisons Dangereuse. This changes everything.

I read in Slate that the current issue of the New Yorker has a profile of Ted Breaux, who has dedicated his life to recreating absinthe as it was in the 19th century.

I am so very glad. Thanks for letting me know; I'll have to look for that.

i am glad that, despite the presence of the rolling stones, you are having a better time in pittsburgh. this makes me happy.

when are you coming back? seafood is infinitely less fun without you, and whole foods on its own is missing a general sense of "arrgh". there are no swordfights in my future, no captured fish parts, no dead namesakes. it is sad to go to work when i know that fishy things aren't going to be thrown at me.

fix this. (only after you are done there, i mean, as it is important to finish things before you return)

Why thank you. Pittsburgh really is being amazing. I shall return with tales of adventure and romance, and I shall also teach you how to hunt at breathing holes in the ice.

Is this arrgh that I bring a sense of piracy, or frustration, or of frustrated piracy? You may be the only person who has ever understood or appreciated my language of blood and the insides of things, and I am quite fond of you for it.

I get in to 30th Street Station just before nine. Do you know if you or anyone else will be around the house at that time? I would really like the chance to love people upon my return.

Mind Your Manners! is a weird little game in which you get to test your understanding of 19th Century politeness. it is very cute, and has weird animation. i think you'll enjoy it.

Good work! I just bought a flask, and tonight a Suicide Girl is apparently going to get me drunk.
