Lost.

I am in Pittsburgh, and my friends are perfect and true.

But my bags were stolen. While technically nothing that was at all valuable to anyone else was in those bags, nearly all of my clothes, and some books and small things I really liked and needed are gone. The idea that even when or if I do start to pull ahead, my work will only go towards replacing what was lost is terrifying. The reality that I will not be pulling ahead anytime soon, and that things simply will not be replaced is worse. I do not understand why things keep getting worse. I do not understand how it is possible to work so very hard and to have so little to show for it, to be so consistently out of control despite my very best efforts. I don't really know what I should do, or if there is really anything that I can do at all.

The trip will still be good. Friends are better than things. But I did not have very much to begin with, and now I have considerably less.

Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear that your bags are gone. Seeing as you're in Pittsburgh, and I'm in Pittsburgh, please let me know if there's anything I can give to you. Please also let me know if I can see your face before you leave!

Hanging out, really, is the important part. As of yet I have absolutely no plans for the rest of the week besides the obvious FNI, although I am told that that probably won't happen, anyway. There has been talk of going to museums, but no talk of when and little of where. So please feel free to decide my fate or join in on other things that will be happening. One of the things that was stolen was my cell phone charger, so, unfortunately, the best ways to reach me are probably through Liz or LJ comments or email.

May I ask what phone you had?

I have been in situations where I am without a cell phone charger - talk about annyoing. My phone is an LG as well and lasts for days without charge; perhaps you could borrow mine.

Which model is it?

It is an LG 1400. I am going to see if I can buy a new one somewhere today, but if not that would be insanely helpful. Thank you so much.

It appears to be the same type of charger, but I'm Googling it to make sure that they're compatible. I have an VX-8100.

I am not sure if they'll work - it looks like they should, but no websites say that my charger will work with your phone. We can try, if you'd like. I work until 6pm tonight.

That would be amazing. Would you be able to hang out a bit? I believe there was talk of going to see Sixteen Blocks or whatever that one is called tonight.

I would love to see that movie with everyone, but I have had plans for several days for tonight. But I really want to - maybe I'll just meet up for dinner beforehand or something.

Alright. I think Annie is probably the person to call for details.

I would have liked to come with you all, but I don't even get out of work until 6pm and then will have to do multiple buses, resulting in my arrival at 8pm... which is too late for both dinner and movie.

...But enjoy. And let's make sure I see you before you leave!

Also, I was reading "The Subterraneans" last night and realized that your livejournal reminds me somewhat of Kerouac, but with much better punctuation.

I am so sorry! When will you be free? I think that you are neat and hanging out with you is one of the things I really wanted to to do while I am here.

My goodness. Thank you. I am ashamed to admit that I'm not sure I've ever actually read any Kerouac. This is further reason to do that.

I think I should really like to - I work, however, from 1-9 downtown and might be without car. I'll try to figure out something, though. Thank you!

I hope that some or all of the things you lost will find their way back to you.

I don't think Karma was consulted on this one at all, because you certainly don't deserve this. (Unless something really truly amazing is soon to happen and this is just to balance the scale a bit!)

With any luck, I shall be able to repay your kind loan soon, perhaps even by the time I see you. Hopefully that will help a little.

I love you and think you are the best at everything in life and I shall, if you wish, make a gris-gris and conjure a few zombies with my powers of mojo and Voundun to track down and devour the brains of the culprit.

You should not rush that at all. Seeing you will help more than anything else.

Making him give me back my things, appologize, and do a stupid dance will probably suffice.

Alas! I haven't learned how to do that yet. Only the brain eating zombie conjuring, so far.

Unfortunately, one of the things that was stolen was my cell phone charger, and my phone is just about dead. I am left with internet options, and trying to reach people through Liz. Seeing you is very important. I know that there has been talk of going to museums, but beyond that and FNI, I have no set plans for the week at all. You should come play.

I am all over that, yo. Also, Alex and I were wondering if you would be able to do stuff at all this afternoon? We are thinking about museuming a bit.
