ah yes, most excellent! the book i just finished (isabel allende's zorro) has the fabulously dashing pirate jean lafitte in it (in the book he's an influence on zorro's fashion sense)
one day i will go back with you. we will stand on balconies tossing beads to interesting and pretty people, and drink only absinthe, and eat only foods we've never tried before, and go home with strangers or sleep on graves so we never have to pay for a hotel, and ride in carriages and meet the ghosts of gypsy queens and pirates, and spend our days in search of masks and antiques.
