it would seem that some god exists who, once again, is determined to save me from finding my way into sex work. i was just about to start looking for a second job as a telephone actress when my very nice employer surprised me with a fifty cent raise. please note that this falls only a couple of months after my last surprise twenty-five cent raise. i'd seem to be good at working. how exciting.

i found a street that probably does not exist tonight. it was small, and lined with stones and plants, and led into a wall. i doubt that it had a name. and yesterday at work i met a man who i believe may have been autistic and was fantastically well dressed. he wore a suit and hat that had a thirties flair, but managed it in such a way that it was a delicate homage and not a period piece. he informed me that we'd stopped selling a certain type of cheese. i liked him immensely.

megan and i will be in pittsburgh next weekend. we know that we'd like to make a visit to the southside, but don't know where we shall be staying. i've suggested that we sleep in a different room in the cathedral each night.

when megan and i first found one another, we were thrilled to discover that we'd both actually met another person who liked to have sex as often as we each did, which is something like all of the god damned time. as it turns out, megan doesn't actually want sex quite as often as i do. bullocks.

there are several small scratches on my shoulder, and i'm much happier than i was this morning.

I read once that in yorkshire they have a word that means "half a lane" for streets like that. I think it was "loke", but it was a long time ago.

there's very little that's more satisfying than well-earned scratches. except, perhaps, earning them.

there's some fantastic little streets in philly, especially in the older parts of town. it's such a weird place.

yessss!

some day when i have my own country, cars won't be allowed in cities, and no streets will be straight. in skopje, macedonia, the oldest part of the city was called the "turkish section" - all stone streets and houses, winding through the hillside. stairs when the streets became too steep. no cars, of course. just amazing. toledo, spain, also has an old section of town that is largely unsullied by anything modern - no cars allowed.

i think we'd have a much more civilized world if we could limit cars and promote public transit as much as possible. or small electric personal conveyence devices, like this, or smaller (like, if you need to transport more stuff than can reasonably be managed via the trains) - http://www.bobsclassics.com/02l.htm - and set up something parallel to the the regional rail to get them in and out of the city easily.
