in which love fails to tear us apart.

i think rather than "graduating" i'm going to stretch my ears so that i can hide bones and stones and other tools of witchcraft in them. it seems like a far better metaphor for my particular education than walking in a straight line with a bunch of kids i don't know. i won't be a baby and fight it if there are people who'd like to go, however.
the past few days have been terribly exciting. there were good conversations with adam while fishmongering about the understanding of history as progression, poor white kid syndrome, privilege, et cetera. there were very silly conversations with my boss about why women cannot cut up dead fish.
alex came to stay with me so that he could make the children dance at dracula's ball. this involved lots of failed communication, realizing that philadelphia is quite big, carrying alex's father's very heavy suitcase full of cds, and magnets. alex spun for six straight hours, which is truly absurd. i learned that babies are much cooler than drunk people, and i got to play in a dj booth. megan learned about being mean by being polite, i learned that there are forms of overt sexuality that actually offend me (although it might be more accurate to say that i am bored by them, and assume a pose of being offended in order to make them interesting once more), and alex learned about wires. he has gone home to pittsburgh and kittens, i have slept, and ten thousand barbecues have sprung up on my block. i may have to become one of them.
just now i've spent time playing with my roommate newel, talking about the understanding of history as progression; opium wars; opium dens; neocolonialism; the medical field, clitorodectomies, hysterectomies, lobotomies, ADD, and lies, lies, lies; and masturbation.
after i sup whitney and i shall form a popular post-revolutionary ladies' salon that will influence history and fashion forever.

Date: 2005-05-30 11:52 pm (UTC)And also: what are these overt forms of sexuality that bore/offend you, dearest? I'm curious to see how you feel about overt forms of sexuality...

Date: 2005-05-31 02:02 pm (UTC)normally i'm fond of people and situations that are unabashedly sexual. however, at times i can be something of a snob, and i think that there might be more interesting ways of being visibly fetishy than covering one's self in d-rings and collars, especially if one does so in ways that are not particularly pretty. (i would probably not feel this way at all if a roommate of mine hadn't just asked me what bdsm meant while he was wearing a collar.)

And we will revolutionize the world of dance.
