my dearest tilda swinton,

do you remember that time that i was very much in love with you? it was when i gave you every red cross flag in the city. (there are quite a lot of them this month, all huddled around city hall. i think that they are very beautiful. and they are yours!) i do hope you liked them. i'm entirely too smitten with you, and i really don't know what i'm going to do with myself for the rest of my life without you, besides run off to a nunnery, or to sea. and yet, despite my love for you (i am ashamed to say it. please forgive me and continue to be just as kind and cold to me as you always are once you know.) i have never yet seen orlando. and it is my favourite book! i am a terrible creature, worthy of nothing. i can only hope that in our long, separate futures, you'll remember to pity me once or twice.

eternally yours,

jack, sir grey, completely unworthy of you, et cetera.

orlando is gasp gasp gaspingly good. i mean, the genderswitchery, the time defying, the poetry, the muted greys and greens of england - just wonderful. you must tell me everything when you get back.

this photograph looks nothing like tilda (?!)

...when you get back from the time-travel that is Orlando. yes, it's Tilda - it just doesn't look like her.

the book is perfect. i do tend to appreciate the most silly things that authors have ever done, though.

perhaps a nunnery-at-sea is called for? soon, the sight of the Jolly Sister shall strike terror in the hearts of the merchant marine; tales of her exploits whispered in darkened cabins evoke a shiver of fear, a tingling of the skin, every heartbeat a drum, every shallow breath loud enough for all the world to hear -- the eroticism of a certain death at sea.

prithee spare my life, for now. my penence is not complete; there is yet blood and tears to be drawn from this broken flesh.
