like a prayer was the first option, but it wasn't dancey enough. it became depeche mode's personal jesus, and more recently has settled on nine inch nails, closer, which, for my purposes, is as much about god as it needs to be. i'm still searching, though. thanks much!

A big strip club, or a fun one?

I like the Cricket and Anthony's both located in N. Oakland, but I am told they are not great one. I eat the 25-cent pizza at Anthony's.

Also, there is bare-e-oke, where you go do karaoke while strippers dance. Wonderfully tragic.

lap dances are better when the stripper is crying.

You know, listen to Nick Cave or some Birthday Party, and all of your song fantasies and needs will be fulfilled.

Yeah, The Birthday Party was actually Nick Cave's reeeeaaaalllly crazy band, pre-Bad Seeds. They cannot even slightly be defined as mellow, though there are lots of religious-esque songs. Ever heard "Release the Bats"? They did that song.

jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine

patti smith "gloria" king missile "jesus was way cool" shriekback "gunning for the buddha" xtc "dear god" zztop "jesus just left chicago" tori amos (of course), pogues "if i should fall from grace with god" psychedelic furs "imitation of christ" i second the nick cave/birthday party nomination, and raise with diamanda galas (plague mass is, well, is...) and of course, half of the legendary pink dots songs would qualify.
