manifest destiny.

i've met california, and the pacific. there are dolphins and an island and pirate songs and the most amazing costumes and a new top hat and masks and a boy named puck who makes things out of palms and peter pan and oscar wilde movies. also, whitney is really quite pretty. dear me. it's disney and hopefully meghan, next.

*grin* I am here at the Atlantic with a great many people from California, including a pirate and several puck-like creatures. (No top hats, tho'.) It is veryvery wonderful. I'm so glad you are having a lovely time, too.

we should be communicating via note in bottle, then.

It might take a veryvery long time for the bottle to travel from this ocean to that, tho'.

in the progressive mcdonaldification of the world, we sometimes forget that the land is not so easily tamed as human structures, and that the waters are even less so. the pacific is far more fearsome than the atlantic, dark and brooding and hinting of ancient whispered secrets that are emphatically not human. the atlantic is more human, littered with our artifacts - shipwrecks, lighthouses, cony island. it's somehow a kinder, gentler feeling ocean, which makes it that much more dangerous.

the pacific only worries me because i know a lot of the atlantic's stories. i know the gods with whom i'm dealing. i don't know the pacific at all.

A new top hat? That sounds promising. I am glad all is going well.
