you see, it would simply be foolish of me to be upset just now. and, fool though i may be (don't forget what they say about wise men needing fools more than fools need wise men.) this is hardly a good enough reason to be me. the fact that i am superbly wonderful is quite enough.

a universe in which i shall be moving to pittsburgh in just ten weeks or so is a good universe indeed. i realized, also, that i have enough money to go to pittsburgh for a weekend sometime soonish. the week after next liz will be in philadelphia. in late march, i will go to new york for the weekend to visit whitney, who is delightful, wonderful, and neat, and who shall be on the east coast once more. she and i are having babies right now. i must say that i'm rather pleased that liz and kaitlin and requiem and whitney exist in general. annie did the time warp with me, which was awesome. regina will go to a drag king show with me if i go to queer wrestling with her. this is, i think, an excellent trade.

i'm a bit disappointed that the one oscar category i decided to watch (which i only decided to watch at all so i could see johnny depp be hot) was not won by johnny depp, or even bill murray, but by sean penn. being madonna's ex-wife is not a redeeming factor. roar! at least nicole kidman gave the award.

however, to make up for that, i have a picture of alex wearing a paper hat made out of a diner menu on my hard drive. oh, the world is good.

I think that Sean Penn got the Oscar more for the fact that this was his fourth nom, and no successes. Mayhaps the Academy saw Susan Lucci's Emmy karma and decided that will not happen at their awards. I wish Mr. Murray won it, tho': Mefeels that was the only Oscar nod he'll ever get, regretfully.
