jacktellsliesFriends, although I pale to admit it, I am ignorant and incomplete. There are desperately important things that I do not know. Namely: Latin; French; the chemical effects of food and drink on the human animal and other elements of kitchen witchcraft; tailoring; lock picking; gardening for herbs, poisons, aesthetics, window boxes, companionship, fancy dress, oxygen, and urban warfare; how to be a businessman in 1843, complete with the development of good sense and fantastical facial hair; the words to more sea shanties and drinking songs; grant writing; how to create one's own blends of tea; and a thousand other things. Would that I'd left school and learned something of use! Would I weren't an orphan, doomed to twelve hours a day of drudgery! Would that dead fish were fluent in conversational French!
As I think happens far too often to all of us, I am sacrificing being interesting in favour of being nearly practical. I am currently bravely attempting to learn about the following: how to be a businessman in 2007; how to stay relatively warm; the secrets of the successful sheriff's sale, I do hope; glamour; composting; and otherwise tilling the soil in which I will plant the seeds of the mystical being that I am destined to become.
