thursday we fed the cat for the first time. alex came over, and there were veggie burgers and there was talking. friday, being friday, was improvs, and then kings. liz and kaitlin and i stayed up talking until six o'clock or so, which was good, as i was a wee little bit upset on friday during the day, and i hadn't spent many hours talking with just the three of us in some time, and they are just lovely ladies. saturday was liz's birthday. it was, in fact, the first of her good birthdays. we woke up very late and then went to paul and his lady melissa's gorgeous apartment in southside (rather like south street) for fun day. we went to an art gallery opening; a woman had taken beautiful photographs of local strippers, and quite a few of the strippers were there, two of them dancing on the stairs when we arrived. upon finding myself in a room with my friends and many other gorgeous women and boys and a table providing wine and brie, i decided that i rather like my life. following this, we returned to paul's house. you must know that there is a bit of a cult of the birthday cake in pittsburgh. we personalize them, often in the most offensive way possible. this was the first cake i helped to bake here, and i was terribly excited about it. we made liz a red velvet cake, and drew a witch being burnt at the stake in the icing. we had originally intended to include high fiving puritans, and possibly shrapnel, making her agnes nutter, but the cake wasn't really that big. we watched buffy, and eventually went to a diner, and then went to bed.
